About

Quebec-based artist Janet London makes animals and neo-abstracted paintings comprised of scraped materials, smeared patches of charcoal and large brushstrokes of colorful recycled paints. The compulsive energy of her work vibrates between rehearsed wildness and careful control. Her large artworks as well as her smaller ones and intimate investigations study the mechanisms of colors and dreams — extracting what present itself when the soul interprets fantasies as shapes or colors as textures.

Janet lives and works in Drummondville, Quebec. She was honored to receive a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Masters of Education from well established universities. The artist’s work has been shown in California, Greece, Korea, Cuba, Trinidad & Tobadgo, San Francisco, Ontario and Quebec. She currently has a solo exhibition at the Neolondon Arts Gallery in Drummondville, Qc.
